MAKEUP AND SPRAY TAN

LITTLE MISS MAKEUP AND SPRAY TAN

Need something different?
BEFORE your tan
Remove unwanted hair. Try to shave or wax at least 24 hours before your spray tan. If you don’t remove unwanted hair your tanning solution will cling to your hair shafts, creating a dotty and uneven finish. Shaving too early after your tanning treatment will strip your skin of its caramel hue.
Exfoliate. The night before your tan exfoliate your skin with a gentle exfoliator or scrub to slough off the top layer of dead skin cells. The fresher your skin cells, the longer the life of your tan – it’s as simple as that.
Apply nail polish. Your therapist will usually apply a barrier cream to your nails before you enter the spray tan booth to prevent tanning solution from staining your nail bed and cuticles. Apply nail varnish to your fingernails and toes before your treatment for an extra layer of protection.
Avoid perfumes and deodorant on the day of your tan because some of the chemicals found in these products can prevent fake tan from adhering to the skin smoothly.
AFTER your tan
Directly after your spray tanning treatment wear loose fitting, dark coloured clothing. Tight waistbands and close fitting clothes can remove colour before the tan has been given a chance to develop.
It will take up to eight hours for your spray tan to fully develop, so try not to shower or bathe in this time.
Similarly, vigorous exercise and swimming should also be avoided for at least the first 24 hours.
After your spray tan has developed completely and you have washed off the guide colour, keep your skin supple with plenty of moisterisation. Generous moisturising will prevent your skin from drying out and will keep your tan looking incredible between treatments.
